The efficiency of geophysical well studies (GIS) is determined by a level of metrological support of borehole equipment and measurement procedures.
The base departments of LLC "Gazprom geofizika" metrological service are the metrology and certification Center (CMiC) and metrology and certification service of RPB "Tsentrgazgeofizika". These departments are equipped with standards calibrated by the State metrological service of RF (standard samples of porosity, density, neutron characteristics, rock saturation, normally occurring radioactive element content) as well as with reference calibration unit, calibration wells and testing equipment.
The available equipment makes it possible to carry out:
– development, manufacture, primary calibration and re-certification of calibration facilities for borehole equipment of different modifications (neutron logging, pulsed neutron logging, measurement while drilling, borehole gamma defectoscope - cement bond log sonde, gamma-ray logging and spectral gamma-ray logging, acoustic logging, heat flow survey, borehole sound level meters);
– certification testing of borehole equipment for determination of its metrological characteristics and evaluation of the environment effect;
– obtaining of the main and additional calibration curves for the borehole radioactive logging equipment (RK);
– primary calibration and re-calibration of various borehole equipment, its certification as a reference and working measurement device.
LLC "Gazprom geofizika" carries out incoming inspection of all newly arrived acoustic logging and radioactive well logging equipment.
In the manufacturing subsidiaries of LLC "Gazprom geofizika" located in the regions where the works are carried out the geophysical equipment calibration is performed by their own calibration laboratories with the use of computerized units according to the rules of Russian calibration system.
Calibration is performed with the use of ground equipment (logging cable, cable simulator, logging station), characteristics of which correspond to the equipment used for well measurements.
