LLC «Gazprom geofizika» carries out geological and technological studies during well construction with the use of specialized parties for a number of Russian oil-and-gas companies, primarily for JSC Gazprom affiliated companies.
In the course of geotechnical studies the work of the following main divisions is provided:
– GTI field party, carrying out acquisition and recording of technological and geologic-geochemical parameters, with the main operational warnings, recommendations and conclusions being issued;
– GTI station routine maintenance, technical support and repair group;
– control and interpretation party, carrying out reception, processing and interpretation of primary data, issue of conclusions, preparation of the report on the well.
Therewith the geologic, technological, technical-and-economic and information problems defined by current ruling documents are solved.
Most of geologic and technological studies are carried out on gas wells, which define the highest level of requirements to reliability, confidence and informativity of technical aids and software used in parties’ work, to professionalism and honesty of operating personnel. To meet these requirements the Company cooperates with designers and manufacturers, regularly increasing quality grade of the purchased stations for geological-technical study. Among few in Russia the Company conducts regularly training and education of its employees at specialized courses over last four years.
Development of geological-technical studies is realized in the following main directions:
– expanding a scope of current problems determined by specifics of hole making safety under conditions of gas-bearing feature penetration, abnormally high pore pressure and high content of hydrogen sulfide; the necessity to control geologic environment of underground gas storage from the standpoint of optimizing its operation; drilling under conditions of complex carbonate reservoirs;
– providing the data monitoring of well construction, with the data being in formats complying with the international requirements and taking into account the features of exploration and operation of fields and underground gas storages at JSC Gazprom;
– development of the procedure for complex geological-technical study data interpretation together with GIS data and other methods for subsurface and borehole environment exploration.
